Little secret Okinawan cuisine in a very cosy place with friendly staff.Only Japanese menu, all sets are great!
Moreit's hidden a bit. but.. very famous to the local. amazingly great okinawan home set meal with so friendly owner who can speak english. i hope i would come again so soon!! :-)
MoreA well-hidden restaurant that is a favourite among the locals. The male owner of the restaurant, who speaks English pretty well, serves the guests, and the female owner is in charge of preparing the wonderful dishes.I only tried their signature Taro set meal (1,300 yen) and I gotta say it was a really special meal. You can tell they put in effort for every single detail and dish in it. It's the very definition of homecooked goodness. They pride themselves for using high quality, fresh local produce (especially yam).Getting there is a little tricky though. You will have to enter via the car park, instead of what Google Maps suggests you to do. But once you get in, it's all worth it. :)
MoreMy favourite Okinawan restaurant. Lovely place very friendly staff and great food. Beautiful interior in this small friendly restaurant deceptive appearance from the outside this is a hidden jewel.
MoreIt's not easy to find, being located behind homes and a parking lot in a residential area. However, it's worth the effort. The dining room feels less like a restaurant than a charming and cosy home. The menu is japanese-only, so what we would get was a bit of a gamble. The set lunches all comprise the same accompaniments and a "main" that is less a main course and more a slightly more substantial version of the other dishes. So really it doesn't matter that much what you order. The place was packed with locals - mostly housewives and retirees. Always a good sign of quality.
MoreFood is delicious and good. We got the soba set, bamboo shoot set and a pig's organs set. The difference between the sets is the soup while the rest of the dishes are the same. Service is great too. They have staff who can speak English and Mandarin so no worries even though they don't have a menu in English. The restaurant is tucked away behind an alley. Not the easiest to find but you can still find it easily as long as you follow google maps. Love this place for the food, service and ambiance!
MoreFriendly clerks, delicious local food, pretty near to Shuri Castle. Diet set about 1050yen.
